Grant Hospital

Project: Family Medicine - Grant Hospital

Working For: Ferguson Construction

Project Requirements:
Ready, Fire, Aim! This high-profile project had clutch timing a tight deadline, and a lot of work
that needed to be done in a short period of time.
We had to consider not only our scope of work, but all other trades and how to successfully
work around them.

  • Friday: Ferguson PM called Chris on a Friday, late Oct 2017. They had an upcoming deadline at Grant. The time was short, only 2 weeks to complete, could we do it?

  • Monday: Chris walked it Monday and put together a strategy to work within their timeline.

  • Tuesday: With little prep time and 2 weeks to complete, a team of 4 started work.

  • A team of 4 to 6 worked through weekends to pull it off

Skill set:
OEP worked closely with Ferguson, the general contractor, Ohio Health senior management, and the other trades to ensure the deadline was met. Hands-on project management to oversee the small details along with the big picture was essential to the success of this project.

Challenges:

Because it was an active construction site and all the trades were working hard to meet the deadline, many of the areas had to be recleaned multiple times. The terminal clean was scheduled to be completed by others and due to the abbreviated timeline was out of sequence. It was slated to be finished before the Final Clean was done. Chris brought the problem to the attention of Ohio Health along with a solution. The plan was modified, and the OEP Clean team was able to step in to do the terminal clean. The ribbon cutting ceremony was held as planned and OEP Clean was honored to be invited!
